This item is made of feldspar porcelain, one of the oldest and most proven materials for degusting and presenting food and hot drinks. Because of the high firing temperature and the resulting hardness and density, it is also called hard porcelain. Feldspar porcelain is always oven-safe, suitable for the microwave and dishwasher-safe.

Holst Porzellan's collection includes the original Chinese Qing Hua Ci tableware - the cobalt blue underglaze based on the original designs of the Ming dynasty. Real cobalt is applied to the unfired body the Qing by hand in the traditional way and covered with a glaze. It then matures at around 1,400 °C to become the Hua or Jia - the beautiful and valuable porcelain that helps the porcelain makers and porcelain painters to achieve the reputation of a Ye, which means prosperity and recognition.
This high-quality decorative porcelain is aimed at traditional Asian flavours and dishes and the design language corresponds to the original templates of the Ming dynasty (around 1,600 AD). Each individual piece is both original and unique. The elaborately hand-dotted cobalt decoration characterises this original porcelain, which we have given the German name Original China Blue.
