Plates
The majority of food distribution systems commonly used in German-speaking countries for inpatient care are based on the standardised size of 255 mm (25.5 cm) for hot food distribution. Conventional, i.e. inactive, food distribution systems such as compact systems, tray systems and also cloche systems generally work with this standard size for compartment plates, system plates and segment plates. Despite this standardised size, compact systems in particular work with different shapes.
You can find a precise overview of which system plates or system platters are suitable for which food distribution systems in our food-distribution-systems section. On this page, we have summarised the common Hospitalia plates and platters for you as a summary of the system crockery porcelain plates.
In fact, the European Commission established back in 2012 that generic hospital porcelain has the same quality characteristics as that of the premium brands - only at a significantly lower price.
