French Fries
It is probably one of the most important food components in German and international cuisine: the French fries. Over the years, the fries have evolved from the snack category and changed their status from simple snack-food to an appealing and versatile side dish. Wedges, Fries, Frittjes, Fritada, or elegantly as Pommes Juliennes, they often even come into their own as an emphasised side dish for fine dining.
However, fries in particular - and therefore one of the most common side dishes - are subject to extreme comparability. A lack of time and logistical limitations in the production of the potato dish help the frozen fries from McCain, Aviko, Bofrost, Rewe, Bördegold and other convenience brands to cover more than 70% of total global consumption. The French fries from high-end restaurants are even directly compared with those from takeaways, McDonalds, Burger King or Kentucky Fried.
For the discerning host, this means giving their fries as unique a position as possible. No host wants to be compared directly with their neighbour's fries. In terms of preparation and refinement, fries offer many possibilities. But another decisive factor in making fries stand out from the crowd is the way they are presented.
Of course, fries can be served in any type of bowl or plate. We at Holst Porzellan also have more than enough of them. But in this inspiration we present you very special porcelain bowls that are dedicated exclusively to French fries and help to turn an ordinary potato fry into a completely unique side dish with a high recognition value.
