Catering – professional porcelain with a wide range of functions
The Karina narrow flag plate has evolved from a purely functional plate for communal catering to cult tableware. Originally designed as a system-compatible serving plate for communal catering, the combination of simplicity and function is now equally popular in private households and restaurants. This plate series has been part of the Holst Porzellan range for over 40 years. It has therefore survived many production sites over the years. The Karina narrow flag plate was launched in the 1970s as shape 3030 with Winterling Eschenbach, Made in Germany. It has been a central element of the GV-Line series ever since. The Karina shape is characterised by the steep and pronounced transition from the serving surface to the narrow rim. This ensures that self-service guests, in particular, can handle the filled plate without spilling.Another advantage of the narrow rim and steep transition is the optimal utilisation of space, which results in a high proportion of serving area in relation to the diameter.
Since the beginning of 2017, the former hard porcelain plates have been upgraded to hotel quality. The three sizes of dessert plate, dinner plate and soup plate are now made from high-alumina porcelain. The Karina shape plates are extremely break-resistant, stable and of high quality, and are now available in a new radiant white lustre.
