Holst Porcelain plates and platters sorted by series names
For those already acquainted with our product range, primarily our trade partners and resellers, we have organised the range of plates and platters in this category by series name. This product group offers a comprehensive range of over 500 plates and platters from more than 70 series or design lines, providing a diverse selection for both private and commercial users. This makes Holst Porzellan one of the leading suppliers of porcelain plates and platters.
Unfortunately, there are recurring misunderstandings between us porcelain makers and our end customers, especially those in the professional hospitality industry, when it comes to the designation of a flat porcelain item. There is a common misunderstanding between us porcelain makers and our end customers, especially those in the professional hospitality industry, regarding the designation of a flat porcelain item. Many people consider a "plate" to be a platter, whereas we porcelain makers refer to it as a plate. From the user's perspective, a plate is typically an item used for food. This could be a main course plate, dessert plate, bread plate, and so on. The porcelain maker, however, differentiates between the flat parts according to the type of manufacture and production process used. Historically, plates were exclusively turned on a plate roller and were always round. In the context of modern industrialised production, plates are also isostatically pressed. This allows the production of other shapes in the same way as 'round'. Additionally, isostatic presses can be utilised to manufacture oval or rectangular items. The conceptual distinction is therefore even more challenging to make today than it was previously.
However, the general rule of thumb still applies that round plates cost less to produce than rectangular or oval plates. This is why items with the same price point can vary significantly in size. This is particularly evident when there are round plates and oval platters in the same series.
To assist our customers in locating the item they require, we utilise both designations when there is uncertainty. For instance, we also refer to the pizza plate as a pizza. Please note that even Google does not differentiate between a burger plate and a pizza plate.
All plates and platters from Holst Porcelain have the highest hygienic properties, are dishwasher safe, microwaveable and suitable for demanding commercial use. Please refer to the respective descriptions of the series and detailed information provided for each of our products.
