Fish Plates & Fish Platters
Similar to the cutlery of the "fish knife", a special fish plate or fish plate is required for a stylish fish dish. A good fish platter adapts as much as possible to the fish presented and is therefore usually oval or rectangular in shape. The mirror, i.e. the serving surface of a fish plate or fish platter, must not be too low under the flag, the edge of the plate, so that the guest can easily carve the culinary seafood. If the knife and fork have to lift the cutlery to eat a fish at the table, the serving plate is too deep and not suitable for a fish dinner.
Since fish should be served whole, a good fish plate needs a size of at least 30 to 40 cm. A fish platter that is too small can quickly make the expensive fish look cheap or unsightly.
In this selection, we have put together a selection of plates and platters that are well suited for fish dishes according to our taste and professional opinion. In terms of sheer size, we have also added the large, modern porcelain plates with coloured, reactive glaze, where we believe that nothing supports the visual impact of a well-prepared fish better than a white porcelain plate or plate.
