Baking dishes and oven porcelain with a capacity of more than 1 litre are considered multi-portion dishes and are used for a variety of dishes and applications. In both commercial and gourmet kitchens, baked or gratinated dishes are often prepared and stored as multi-portion dishes. Large casseroles and gratinated delights, all types of pasta made from lasagne noodles and much more can be perfectly prepared in the large, solid oven dishes. The square oven dishes are also frequently used as classic open roasters, for example, for goose, chicken and poultry dishes, as well as for steak and meat dishes at low temperatures. They are versatile and truly universal porcelain cooking utensils.

Please note that baking residues do not burn into the hard porcelain; they simply stick to the porcelain. It is important to note that oils, fats or calcium compounds will not burn into the glaze of real hard porcelain cookware at temperatures below 500 °C. This is in contrast to blackware, such as conventional pots, pans and iron fryers, where the surface is generally much softer and can bond with the metal even in lower temperature zones. This consideration highlights the superior hygienic properties of porcelain casserole dishes.
