Elegant classic mugs made from high-quality porcelain
In the pursuit of innovation, youthful design, fresh concepts and constant renewal, it is ultimately those items and shapes that survive constant change and defy adaptation and alteration that become classics. Some of these classics with a long history are the traditional drinking cups in familiar shapes such as the Haferl, Pharisäer, Rüdesheimer and Friesenbecher in white porcelain. The Pharisäer cup is certainly the most distinctive cup in the collection of classic, traditional porcelain cups due to its foot. The Pharisäer is enjoyed in the traditional way on a special Pharisäer set consisting of a mug and saucer. At Holst Porzellan, as specialists in white porcelain, you can choose from three different saucers with diameters of 14 cm, 16 cm and 17 cm to create your own Pharisee set, consisting of a mug and saucer.
In addition to the Pharisäer mug, we also stock the original shape of the Bavarian coffee mug. To increase durability in everyday use, the originally wide handle has been made slightly smaller and more delicate to increase resistance to mechanical stress and reduce the space required. The Friesenbecher, on the other hand, is a traditional mug in a neo-conic style, which is only produced by a few porcelain manufacturers. It can be found under the names 1898, 1920 and, at Holst, as Friese BT 162. It should not be confused with its much older and more traditional brother, the Kaffeehaferl, which is also known as a Herrenbecher or Klönbecher with its typical Indian blue decorations.
More detailed information on the individual classics can be found in the respective item description.
