Porcelain mug with coloured & reactive glazes
As a provider of professional tableware made from high-quality porcelain, we offer only a small range of coloured drinking and coffee cups in our assortment. This is for two reasons.
Approximately 75% of all coloured mugs and cups on the European markets are made from a ceramic that is fired at a lower temperature than porcelain. The bright, often playful coffee and tea cups decorated with motifs and slogans are fired between 1,100 °C and 1,240 °C and are not designed for continuous use with hot beverages. Within these ceramic cups, small craquelé cracks (fine cracks in the glaze) quickly develop, where residues and chemical washing remnants can accumulate. We do not offer such qualities!
However, these cups are much cheaper than high-quality porcelain and are available in chains such as Tedi, Woolworth, Roller, or Kick for as little as 1 Euro. In particular, uninformed private consumers compare a coloured glazed porcelain cup with such inexpensive cups.
The second, far more significant reason for our limited range is the emotional hygienic aspect. Especially with cups and mugs that are coloured on the inside, guests cannot clearly see whether they are clean. In the hospitality industry, coloured interiors in cups and mugs are an absolute "no-go"! White cups and mugs naturally convey cleanliness and hygiene, providing both guests and hosts with a sense of security.
The following small collection of coloured cups and mugs is made from high-quality feldspath porcelain fired at over 1,320 °C and offers the same hygiene standard as our white porcelain. We only offer these coloured drinking vessels as supplementary items to certain ranges.
Incidentally: For orders of 1,000 pieces or more, we manufacture each of our cup and mug models in any desired colour!
