There is hardly any product category where the requirements of private and commercial consumers are as similar as they are with mugs and cups. Setting aside the thin-walled collector's cups, which are now mostly found only on Sunday coffee tables, the use of drinking mugs and cups for various coffee specialties is largely identical in households and commercial settings.

Thanks to Saeco, DeLonghi, Jura & Co., modern coffee machines in homes and offices now offer a similar variety of coffee options as the fully automatic machines in large cafés and hotels.

The disappearance of the typical coffee pot has been accompanied by a multitude of new cup sizes and shapes for espresso, double espresso, cappuccino, café au lait, and other beverages. New cold and hot drinks from around the world, such as chai, matcha, bubble tea, or café cortado, require new sizes and shapes for mugs and cups.

At Holst Porzellan, we offer a comprehensive and diverse collection with more than 200 mugs and cups from various series and designs.

When manufacturing our mugs and cups, we strictly focus on important functional features and properties that not only ensure the stability of hot beverages but also guarantee the durability and hygienic stability of porcelain cups. All our mugs and cups are rim-glazed, protecting them from contamination and discoloration caused by coffee oils and theine.

The handles are attached externally, leaving no internal space for residues or germs. The large, glazed contact surfaces between handles and bodies ensure excellent dishwasher durability.

Made from high-quality feldspar porcelain and fired at over 1,320°C, the mugs and cups in our porcelain collection provide all the advantages and functional properties of professional-grade porcelain. Unlike the colorful ceramic mugs, white porcelain cups and mugs are free from any risk of corrosion and oxidation. Even after frequent use, they show no crazing (small hairline cracks) in the glaze and maintain their hygienic integrity. Unlike the elegant bone china mugs, our porcelain mugs contain no animal bone ash and are therefore also suitable for vegans.

A special feature of our mug and cup collection is that the foot rings are designed to be compatible with the saucer sizes of a small number of our plate series. This means you can find matching saucers for nearly all our plate and bowl series, allowing you to create a custom-designed set with our mugs and cups.
