Holst Porzellan is one of the few manufacturers to realise a genuine ‘true-nature’ green reactive effect glaze on real, extremely resistant hard porcelain. The name ‘Musgo’ is Spanish for densely growing moss. For us, it refers to the fourth glaze variant of the Reactive Trend collection and is primarily dedicated to healthy, sustainable veggie cuisine. Moss is one of the oldest vegetations of the earthen flora and has survived all epochs of the earth's history to this day. Moss - Musgo - is a symbol of the natural power to withstand all temperatures and influences and is deeply rooted in the earth. Just like our porcelain! Musgo - a deep, lush green, which in its irregularity once again offers a harmonious picture as a whole. Discreetly streaked and speckled with small, green to green-black shades of colour in the reactive glaze, Musgo porcelain embodies the deep connection between porcelain and the earth. There could hardly be a better name for a porcelain series, as porcelain is not subject to any natural ageing process and is made to last forever. Musgo stands for the elements of nature, taste and sustainability as well as the modern zeitgeist.
Reactive porcelain in natural colours, such as the deep moss green of the Musgo series, combines the enjoyment of different food components without highlighting any of them. This is the culinary secret of the reactive glazes. Light-coloured meats, fish and even bright red tomatoes appear softer, more subtle and look as if they are bedded on natural moss on Musgo. The lush green colour does not exclusively represent vegetarian cuisine, but rather combines all types of food with a sense of sustainability, health and closeness to nature.
