Form Active Coral
The sixth reactive glaze development on true hard porcelain has been dedicated to the element of water. The Spanish name "Coral" refers to the corals, the fauna that live with them, and the depth of the blue sea. Like the coral itself, the colors of the Coral series shift from vibrant turquoise to greenish-blue, depending on how the light hits the matte glaze, which is speckled with hundreds of small, black reactive spots. This blue-turquoise play of ocean colors is framed by a hand-painted, subtle brown brushstroke that links Coral to the other reactive dinnerware from Holst Porzellan, forming the concept of "Mix & Match." Coral represents the elements of water, taste, and sustainability, as well as a modern spirit. Each piece of the Coral series has been handcrafted, making it a unique work of art.
Reactive porcelain in nature-inspired colors, such as the deep ocean blue of the Coral series, harmonizes different food components without highlighting any one of them. This is the culinary secret of reactive glazes. Light seafood, orange shrimp, crabs, and even bright red tomatoes appear quieter, more subdued, and seem naturally embedded on Coral. The rich blue is not limited to seafood alone but connects all types of dishes with the nature-based feeling of water, sustainability, and health. This creates the perfect platform to blend visual perception with culinary delights, stimulating two key senses.
The standout feature of Holst Porzellan's reactive glazes is their incredible versatility in combination. Coral, Musgo, Carbon, Arena, Granito, Moreno, and Tierra can all be combined to create exciting and always harmonious "Mix & Match" serving combinations.
