Tray tins - storing and serving
We use the term ‘bowl tins’ to summarise covered porcelain bowls that are suitable for storing food, including in the fridge. The dish lids are dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe plastic lids that can be used to heat up the food stored in the bowls at a later date - e.g. in the office or at work. The bowls cover portion sizes from 0.25 to 1.1 litres.
The lids are so-called overlay lids that do not close tightly. For transport, we recommend only transporting the lid and bowl combination in an upright position, e.g. in a basket. With a rubber band stretched tightly over the lid and bowl, the tightness can be increased considerably, so that - apart from soups - almost all types of food can be transported in them.
Of course, the porcelain bowls can also be used without lids, e.g. as side dish bowls, cereal bowls, dip bowls and the large sizes as vegetable and stew bowls. A practical solution in every respect for single households and anyone who wants to avoid environmentally harmful packaging waste when transporting and enjoying home-prepared food.
