Napkin Rings & Napkin Holders
The napkin is an essential item for the dining table. Its use has been documented since the 1st century. Its current form is derived from the French and originally derived from the Latin term "servus" for servant. The napkin fulfils a number of tasks for the diner, acting as a servant in this capacity. During the meal, the napkin protects clothing from soiling. After the meal, the napkin is used to dab the mouth and clean the fingers.
